Ezekiel 18th December 2019

I first met Prof Commey when he came to visit his son in Mfantsipim in 1988. The very spot where I slept was where he slept as a student and where the late Joe Appiah also slept( he informed me). We became friends and our friendship continued through my years in medical school and housemanship. When I worked as a house officer in Pediatrics on his ward, he would sometimes pull me out of the ward in the evening( usually the evening before grand rounds), drive to a club house, order beer for himself but malt for me and just have a chat with me. He would then drive me back to the ward to finish my work. Needless to say, I wasn’t spared during the rounds if I wasn’t adequately prepared. Prof was friendly, jovial, serious and smart. He will be missed. Prof, damirifa due, fare thee well and Rest In Peace. Ezekiel Sakyiama
